House of Saud royal-watching is totally my guilty pleasure. I just love the glamor: the duff playing, the sword dancing, the perfuming with bukhoor. Not to mention the latest in bisht styles for the fashion conscious (me: guilty as charged!).
Even as the world modernizes, it warms my heart to know a family of tyrannical strongmen can still live in spectacular splendor off the labor of their oppressed but worshipful people. Royalty is just so romantic.
